JKS Ethiopia Karate is the premier organization dedicated to
Japan Karate Shoto Federation Ethiopia is the premier organization dedicated to advancing the art of Shotokan Karate in Ethiopia. Led by Director Hailemichael Assefa (Dudikoff), our center integrates traditional karate with modern neuro-physiological science and the scientific art of ‘Kokyu’ (breathing). Having recently secured historic bronze medals at the JKS World Championship in Tokyo, we have proven our excellence on the global stage. Our mission is to build a generation defined by discipline, physical strength, and scientific mastery through the true spirit of Karate.”
FOUNDER & General Directorate
“Sensei Hailemichael, a long-time coach of the Ethiopian National Karate Team, has left an enduring footprint on the growth of Shotokan Karate in Ethiopia. Notably, he is a two-time champion in Miami, USA (2024 & 2025).”
“At Japan Karate Shoto Federation Ethiopia, we recognize that true mastery comes from a balanced mind and body.
Beyond physical training, we offer comprehensive Psychological Preparedness and Mental Health Education designed to build resilient and focused athletes. By bridging the gap between traditional Shotokan principles and modern neuro-physiological research, we address the psychological well-being of our members. Our curriculum includes specialized training on the Neuro-Physical connection and ‘Kokyu’ science, ensuring our students are mentally prepared to face challenges both on the mat and in their daily lives.”
JKS Ethiopia has firmly established its presence nationwide. We currently have more than 128 JKS Ethiopia clubs operating across Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, Afar, Dire Dawa, Harar, Benishangul-Gumuz, and all other regions of the country。 We provide world-class, scientific Shotokan Karate training throughout this extensive network. Join us today to experience the perfect blend of physical mastery and psychological resilience.”
